Community

Social Responsibility is a Cornerstone of the Allegiant Health Philosophy

Whether it be supporting charitable institutions, participating in community events, or decreasing our carbon footprint to help improve the environment, Allegiant Health is committed to making a positive change. Although it is not possible to recognize the countless charities and programs that do amazing work every day, we take this opportunity to highlight just a few of the many that Allegiant Health is committed to supporting.

Island Harvest has been a leader in hunger relief on Long Island since 1992.  A certified member of Feeding America, the nation’s foodbank network, Island Harvest distributes food and services to assist thousands of Long Islanders every day.

Deeply rooted for over 25 years on Long Island, NY, we at Allegiant Health are acutely aware of the disparity of wealth and opportunity across our community and are proud to host an Annual Food Drive to Support Island Harvest.

Toys for Tots is a Top-Rated Charity where over 97% of donations go directly to the mission of providing toys, books, and other gifts to less fortunate children.

At Allegiant Health, we host an Annual Toy Drive to bring smiles to the faces of those less fortunate than us.

For more than two decades, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer has united communities in the fight against this deadly disease and funded breakthrough research, 24/7 support for breast cancer patients, and access to lifesaving screenings. Today, Making Strides is the largest network of breast cancer events in the nation.

About 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime.  On Long Island, this number may be higher.  With that in mind, Allegiant Health is a proud participant in the Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk to raise money for this wonderful charity.

Our Planet

We have only one home, and it is the same home for all of us.  We must work together to reduce our carbon footprint and protect our natural resources for generations to come.

At Allegiant Health, we take steps every day, large and small, to help reduce our carbon footprint.   From recycling paper, plastic, and metals, planting and nurturing our own greenspace, and reducing energy consumption by investing in energy saving LED lighting and motion sensors, and replacing outdated equipment with new, energy efficient equipment, we are committed to protecting the environment.

Individual Contributors

We reached out to our team and asked them what they do to contribute to the greater good and we could not be prouder of their individual commitments.  Some donate money or items and others their time, but either way, our team clearly understands their role in the greater community. It would take pages to list all their contributions but below are some of the charities they support:

  • Americares
  • The ASPCA
  • Big Brothers/Big Sisters
  • Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Pancreatic Cancer Action Network
  • Sixty-Five Roses
  • Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
  • Tunnel to Towers
  • Wounded Warrior Project
